What a website costs in Malta — printed, not quoted

Almost nobody in this market publishes prices. Here they are. A website is€500, €750 or €1,000 one-off, and running it costs from €5 a month. That’s the whole story — the rest of this page is just detail.

Honesty block

What’s included, and what isn’t

The second list is the one competitors leave out. Here it is anyway.

All prices include VAT where applicable. No setup fees, no surprises. You get a proper invoice for the build and a monthly invoice for the care plan.

Your monthly fee covers

  • Your domain name, paid and renewed
  • Hosting
  • SSL certificate
  • Daily backups
  • Security updates
  • Uptime monitoring

It doesn’t cover

  • New pages or new features — quoted upfront as a fixed price
  • Redesigns — quoted upfront as a fixed price
  • Writing your content or shooting photos — can be quoted
  • Paid extras you ask for, like a booking system subscription

Anything in this list gets a fixed price before work starts. Care members get priority in the schedule.

Agencies in Malta quote €3,000 and up. Same craft, different overheads.

No office in a glass building, no account managers, no sales team taking a cut. A reusable component system means each site starts from solid ground instead of a blank page — which is the honest reason €750 here isn’t €3,000+ elsewhere.

Pricing questions

The money questions, answered

Including the ones people feel rude asking.

How much does a website cost in Malta?

Here, a website costs €500, €750 or €1,000 — one payment, agreed before anything starts.

Elsewhere in Malta the honest answer is “it depends”, because most studios quote per project. A traditional agency here typically lands between €3,000 and €8,000. Freelancers range from €500 to €2,500, usually without a clear scope. Nobody publishes numbers, which is exactly why the question keeps getting asked.

We publish ours. Starter is €500 for up to 3 pages, Business is €750 for up to 6 pages, and Custom is €1,000 for around 10 pages or something with moving parts. If your project genuinely doesn’t fit inside Custom, you get a fixed quote before we start — not an hourly meter.

What's the catch with €5 a month?

No catch, but here’s the honest arithmetic.

Your monthly fee covers your domain name, hosting, the SSL certificate, daily backups, security updates and uptime monitoring. The sites we build are static, which means hosting them costs almost nothing — that’s the whole reason €5 is possible at all.

What the fee does not cover is new work: extra pages, new features, a redesign. Those are quoted upfront as a fixed price, so you always know the number before you say yes.

The €5 tier (Care Light) is deliberately limited to Starter one-pagers with occasional quick fixes. Most businesses are better on Care at €15, which includes 30 minutes of changes a month and a 48-hour response.

Who owns my domain and my website?

You do. Both.

The domain is registered in your name, with you as the legal owner. We manage it so you never have to think about renewals, but it’s yours — if you leave, it goes with you.

The website content is yours outright. The underlying component system we build on stays ours, which is the reason the build costs €750 instead of €3,000. In practice this matters to almost nobody: if you leave, you leave with a working site, your domain and your content.

What if I need something bigger later — new pages, a shop, a redesign?

You get a fixed price for it before any work starts.

Bigger changes are run as small projects with their own agreed number — no hourly billing, no surprise invoices. Care plan members get priority in the schedule.

We’re not publishing a rate card for these yet, because we’d rather quote honestly from real jobs than make numbers up. Ask, and you’ll have a price.

What if I want to leave?

You cancel, and you keep your domain. That’s it.

There’s no contract term and no exit fee. Give us a month’s notice, we transfer the domain to whatever registrar you like, and we hand over your content. If you want the site files themselves to host elsewhere, you get those too.

A care plan you can leave any month has to stay worth paying for every month. That’s the point.

Agencies quote €3,000 and up. Why is this €750 — is it worse?

Different overheads, not different craft.

An agency quote carries an office in Sliema, account managers, project managers, a sales team and a designer who has to bill through all of it. You’re paying for the structure as much as the website.

Here there is no office and no account manager. You talk to the person who builds the site. And the components — the layouts, the forms, the speed work, the SEO groundwork — are reused across projects, so each new site starts from a solid system instead of a blank page.

What you don’t get for €750 is a twelve-person team, a brand strategy workshop, or a six-week discovery phase. If you need those, an agency is the right call and we’ll say so.

My cousin can build one on Wix. Why pay for this?

They can, and for some businesses that’s genuinely the right answer.

But look at the real cost. Wix runs about €10–€30 a month forever, which is the same ballpark as a care plan — except the building, the updating, the SEO setup and the fixing are all your weekend. And the result usually looks like a Wix template, because it is one.

Here it’s custom, it’s built to load fast, and when something needs changing you send a WhatsApp instead of opening a website builder at 10pm.

If you enjoy doing it yourself, do it yourself. If you’d rather run your business, that’s what we’re for.

What does website maintenance actually mean?

It means the website keeps working without you thinking about it.

Concretely: your domain gets renewed before it expires (a website going dark because a €10 renewal was missed is depressingly common), the hosting stays paid and monitored, the SSL certificate keeps your site from showing a browser warning, backups run daily, and security updates get applied.

On top of that, every plan includes some amount of “can you just change this” — the phone number, the opening hours, a price, a photo. Care at €15 includes 30 minutes a month, Care Plus €30 includes an hour plus content updates done for you.

Are the prices including VAT? Do I get an invoice?

Prices on this site are shown including VAT where it applies, so the number you read is the number you pay. Malta’s standard VAT rate is 18%.

You get a proper invoice for the build and a monthly invoice for the care plan, both fine for your accountant.

Know the price? Let’s talk about your website.

Tell me roughly what you need and I’ll tell you which package fits — or say honestly that you don’t need one yet.
