Terms of service

Last updated: 28 July 2026

These are the terms for website builds and care plans from Websajt Malta. They're written in normal words on purpose. Anything specific to your project goes in your written quote, and if the two ever disagree, the quote wins.

The build

Before any work starts you get a written quote naming the package, the price, what's included and roughly what's expected from you. Work begins when you accept it in writing — an email or a WhatsApp message is fine.

The agreed price does not change during the project. If you ask for something outside the agreed scope, you get a fixed price for that addition before it's built. You are never billed for something you have not agreed to.

Timing

Most websites are live in 2–3 weeks from our first coffee. That assumes your content — text, photos, menu, prices — arrives when agreed, and that feedback comes back within a few days. If content is delayed the timeline moves with it; nobody gets penalised, it just takes longer.

Payment

Builds are invoiced 50% to start and 50% before the site goes live, unless your quote says otherwise. Care plans are billed monthly in advance. All prices include VAT where applicable. No setup fees, no surprises.

What the care plan covers

From €5 a month: your domain registration and renewal, hosting, SSL, daily backups, security updates and uptime monitoring, plus the amount of small-change time named in your plan. Unused fix time does not roll over to the next month.

Larger work — new pages, new features, redesigns — is not covered and is quoted separately as a fixed price. Care plan clients get priority scheduling for it.

Cancelling

No lock-in. Cancel anytime and keep your domain. Give one month's notice, by any written means. On cancellation your domain is transferred to you or to a registrar of your choice, and you receive your content and the site files. Hosting on our infrastructure stops at the end of the notice period.

We may end a care plan with one month's notice too — for example if a site's needs have grown well beyond its plan. You'd get plenty of warning and help moving.

Who owns what

  • You own your domain, your content, your photos and your text.
  • You get full ownership of the finished website's content and design as delivered, once it's paid for.
  • We keep the underlying reusable component system the site is built on — that reuse is what makes the price possible. It is never exclusive to one project.
  • We'd like to show your site in our portfolio. If you'd rather we didn't, say so and we won't.

What you're responsible for

That the content you give us is yours to use — text, photos, logos, menus — and that your business complies with the law that applies to it. We'll flag anything that looks like a problem, but we can't verify it for you.

Limits

We take uptime seriously and monitor it, but no website is immune to an outage at a hosting provider or registrar. Our liability is limited to the fees you have paid us in the previous twelve months. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malta, and the Maltese courts have jurisdiction. If something goes wrong, the first step is a conversation — it usually solves it.
